Overview

Yamurai  (meaning to help) Women Empowerment Group (YAWEG) is a registered non-governmental (NGO), non-profit Christian organization which seeks to alleviate poverty among African women young and old and Orphaned Vulnerable Children through empowerment of women from grassroots to middle income level.

Construction of a skills centre for women of low income

Orphanage

Building an affordable shelter for activities or a childrens home

OVC

Assisting the Orphanage or Vulnerable Children (OVC)

Provision of skills to women of low income backgrounds through training in areas such as:

  • poultry, piggery, market gardening, computer training, dress making, cutting and design, interior decor, candle making, weaving, beading, hair dressing, knitting, embroidery, making of floor polish (wax), making of nutritional juice, making of cleaning detergents among others.

Provision of education through payment of school fees and provision of food  To advocate for behavior change through dissemination of information regarding the spread of HIV and AIDs and how to prevent this spread
